1ROOM Education & Orphan Sponsorship Projects
Life after graduation does not seem so bad after all. At least , yet ! I got an internship as a Policy & Government Relations Manager in Kenya, which is exciting. I will be in charge of the 1Room Project and I will at the same time be working on the Orphan Sponsorship Project.
Below is the 'call-to-action' I wrote to raise funds for these children.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights' first article states that "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights". Further the declaration states that "Everyone has the right to education. Education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages".
Admirable, indeed, but what about the times when a right becomes a privilege ? A privilege that leaves many children behind.
We might not be able to have a perfectly fair and equal world, but I believe there are ways we can make the world a better place.
I believe we should stand up for those whose voices are muted and rights denied,
I believe a fair world is achievable only if we step out of our ignorance, indifference and comfort zone which limits our interests to our own lives,
I believe we are "all endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood" as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states,
Therefore, we should give children the education and future they deserve.
The 1Room and Orphan Sponsorship Project does just that! We find children at serious risk of illness or abandonment, and ensure they are healthy, in school, and learning well. Through the 1Room Education Project, we ensure that school is accessible to anyone, anywhere by designing schoolhouse adapted to the 21st century. This allows children to compete in the academic world enjoying programs such as peer tutoring or peer helping to strengthen their mental well-being and learning.
For $80CAD, you could sponsor a child for a year and provide him or her with a simple set of supports such as a mid-day meal, a healthcare spending account, uniforms and supplies, and school-run remedial programs.
Be a change maker, be part of the movement, please donate
